About Course

Malnutrition is common in patients with cancer and is associated with poor outcomes. Patients with cancer become malnourished because of the disease process and side effects from treatments. Nutrition support can improve patient outcomes. Whether orally or enterally fed, cancer patients are encouraged to consume a whole-food, plant-based diet that is rich in anti-inflammatory properties. Consistent access to enteral nutrition that remains in alignment with these recommendations may require a paradigm shift in caring for the enterally nourished cancer patient.

This webinar will review the scientific evidence utilizing blenderized tube feedings in the oncology population. The speaker will review the outcomes of using blenderized feeds and share practical tips including food safety considerations, feeding plan development and monitoring, and transitioning guidelines.
