If experiencing any difficulty when administering the formula through a pump, we recommend that you reblend the formula for 30-45 seconds in a blender to re-emulsify the formula and make administration easier. Yes. Exposure to higher heat (75-100º+) for short periods of time will not negatively affect the nutritional values. The only time the nutritional values will begin to be affected is if the products are stored at temperatures above 75 degrees for extended periods of time (6-12+ months). If exposed to high heat for an extended period, the nutrient value may decrease over time.​

By law, we are required to list the “ounces” and “grams” which are measures of weight, not measures of volume, on the food label. Because the formula is made from real food, its density can vary and, as such, so can the volume of the formula in each pouch. Rest assured, each pouch of Keto Peptide contains 227 grams as measured on a gram scale.

All nutritional information as stated on our website and packaging is correct. The nutritional value of the package contents is calculated and tested for each pouch. The most accurate measure is 227 grams which is what our manufacturers use as a gauge of measurement. 

The conversation of weight is a complex one due to the fact that our product, per food labeling laws, has to show ounces on the label. However, our products are not fluid ounces as most people expect, due to the viscosity. A glass measuring cup or syringe with ounce measurements is designed to measure only fluid ounces. Our product consists of food ingredients and thus is not measured as a thin “fluid” such as water so the volume in ounces may vary.

We have done our best to offer accurate mL measures on the long nutritionals  as a courtesy knowing that RDs are used to working with this measuring system.

If mixing the Keto Peptide formula with anything, including water, you will need to use a blender to make sure that the product is emulsified. We would recommend reblending at low speed for 30-45 seconds. This is especially true if using a pump for administration.

If the products are cool or stored in an air-conditioned or cold room, the product will thicken. It may be helpful to run the unopened pouch under hot water for a minute or two or place the unopened pouch in a bowl of warm water to thin the product down.

Due to the nature of our products we cannot accept returns. After products leave our facility we cannot control how they are stored or cared for. We would never ship previously sold formulas to customers and we feel that you would not want us to. We recommend donating your unopened Keto Peptide to someone else who could benefit from it. The Oley foundation also accepts donated formulas to re-distribute to those in need.  Replacement of damaged goods may be possible and will be considered on a per case basis.

We recommend warming the formula back to room temperature before administering through the feeding pump.  Cold formula will be thicker and may clog the feeding pump. In addition to being room temperature, we would recommend reblending for 30 seconds before administering. 

As with all Functional Formularies products, we do not use any added emulsifiers or preservatives. Therefore, you  may see oil separation with our Keto Peptide formula. This is completely normal and you  do not need to be alarmed. Think of it like the organic peanut butter you buy at the grocery that has the oil on top that you have to mix back up when you get home. If you get a pouch that has separated, just reblend it in a blender for 30-45 seconds and it will be ready to use.

Functional Formularies Keto Peptide is designed to have a shelf-life of up to 2 years from the date that the pouches are packaged (date printed on the pouch). The shelf-life is also dependent upon how the product is stored and handled over the time period. Under the guidelines of our research laboratories, if Keto Peptide is stored and handled properly at ambient temperatures of 60º to 70º degrees Fahrenheit, the maximum shelf-life for the product is 2 years.

Our peptide formulas contain organic hydrolyzed pea protein and organic MCT oil. The protein and fat in our original formulas can be thought of as long pearl necklaces that need to be broken down by the body into individual pearls in order to be absorbed and utilized easily. Our peptide formulas contain short chains of pearls rather than longer chains so that the body does not have to work as hard to absorb and utilize the nutrients.

These formulas are most appropriate for those that may have issues that result in malabsorption problems or difficulty utilizing a standard formula. It is a specialized formula and is usually approved only for certain conditions if insurance coverage is needed. It is best to check with your healthcare provider to determine if you have a condition that would benefit from a peptide based formula.

Yes. Freezing can be a very good way to preserve the nutritional value, texture and flavor of many foods. As long as the food was grown in a high-quality way (for example, organically grown) the overall nutrient retention in a frozen food will remain high. In other words, the vitamins and minerals will keep well when food is frozen.

If your Keto Peptide has been frozen, we recommend that you store it at ambient room temperature and it will thaw naturally. If you need a pouch right away, you can thaw it by running the unopened pouch under hot water for a minute or two or place in a bowl of warm water. Do not microwave to thaw. If you find that your product has been frozen, the product may separate a bit. The product is still perfectly good to use, just shake thoroughly or reblend in a blender to re-emulsify.

Each pouch of Keto Peptide has approximately 18.5 grams of MCT which is ~ 25% of the total calories.

Keto Peptide contains organic extra virgin olive oil, organic coconut MCT oil, organic flax oil and organic almond butter as the primary fat sources.

Keto Peptide contains approximately 84% of calories from fat, 12% from protein and 4% from carbohydrates (based on net carbs which is total carbs minus fiber).

Keto Peptide is a 2.43:1 ketogenic diet ratio meaning that for every 2.43 grams of fat there is 1 gram of protein and net carbohydrate combined.  

Keto Peptide can be altered to fit other ketogenic diet ratios by adding other whole food ingredients.  For example, you can add avocado and/or other oils to increase the ketogenic ratio and you can add additional fruits or vegetables to lower the ratio.
