Our formulas utilize Vitamin D3 in the form of cholecalciferol. D3 naturally synthesizes in your skin during exposure to sunlight and it’s also a commercially prepared supplement made from the lanolin retrieved from washing sheeps’ wool; therefore, it may not be considered vegan for some individuals based on their practices. Other than the D3, our formulas are vegan.

Due to the nature of our products, we cannot return any item to stock. After our product leaves our facility we cannot control how it is stored or cared for. We would never ship previously sold products to customers and we feel that you would not want us to do so. We recommend donating your unopened product to someone else who could benefit from it. We can direct you to our partner organizations that distribute our products to their communities.

Our products also can be used orally and make a great protein shake or can be included in many dishes.

Our peptide formulas contain organic hydrolyzed pea protein and organic MCT oil. The protein and fat in our original formulas can be thought of as long pearl necklaces that need to be broken down by the body into individual pearls in order to be absorbed and utilized easily. Our peptide formulas contain short chains of pearls rather than longer chains so that the body does not have to work as hard to absorb and utilize the nutrients.

These formulas are most appropriate for those that may have issues that result in malabsorption problems or difficulty utilizing a standard formula. It is a specialized formula and is usually approved only for certain conditions if insurance coverage is needed. Liquid Hope Peptide Berry Medley, like any other Functional Formularies formula, has a 2-year shelf life and a 12 hour hang time. Achieving these goals requires that the formula be heated to assure that the whole foods have no microbial activity. This heat processing often results in a change in color of the berries.

The two can be used by adults somewhat interchangeably unless you have a tree nut allergy. In that instance, only Liquid Hope Peptide Berry Medley would be appropriate because Liquid Hope Peptide contains almond butter and would not be appropriate for those with a tree nut allergy.

In addition, there are slight differences in the amount of macronutrients so it is best to follow the guidance of your clinician when determining which formula to use. The biggest difference is the type of fiber found in Liquid Hope Peptide Berry Medley vs Liquid Hope Peptide. Liquid Hope Peptide gets a considerable amount of its fiber from chickpeas in the form of galactooligosaccharide or GOS. Liquid Hope Peptide Berry Medley contains a considerable amount of its soluble fiber content in the form of pectin. Different types of fiber have different effects on aspects of digestion such as transit time and frequency of bowel movements.

This difference, as well as the polyphenols and lower pH of Liquid Hope Peptide Berry Medley, may be very beneficial to the microbiome over time. Some adults, however, may not tolerate the more acidic Liquid Hope Peptide Berry Medley as well.

Liquid Hope Peptide Berry Medley has a subtle sweet taste provided by the berries, cinnamon, and a small amount of stevia. There is no added sugar in Liquid Hope Peptide Berry Medley so the sweet flavor is not overly powerful as you may find with other formulas.

Stevia is a plant-based natural sweetener. A 12oz pouch of Liquid Hope Peptide Berry Medley contains a very small amount in the product (stevia is the last ingredient by weight). For patients extremely sensitive to any sweeteners (natural or not), Liquid Hope Peptide is available and does not contain Stevia.

Our Liquid Hope Peptide Berry Medley formula is free from seeds, we deseed the berries before they go into the formula.

Almond butter was not included in Liquid Hope Peptide Berry Medley so that it would be free of all 9 major allergens. The protein, carbohydrates, and fat almond butter was providing in our Liquid Hope products are now being contributed by other ingredients including berries and pumpkin for carbohydrates, pumpkin seed protein and hydrolyzed pea protein for protein and flax oil and extra virgin olive oil for fat.
